BWF Current Thematic Areas Selected for Funding for the Next Three Years:

Implement the DV Act-2010 through Awareness and Advocacy:

Community mobilization and aiding rural women claiming justice under the domestic violence (protection and prevention of domestic violence Act 2010).

The law enacted in 2010 but yet the victims of domestic violence have no idea and knowledge and steps, procedures of claiming justice under the law. As a result it is likely to inactive the law itself. In fact, the law is for the first time in Bangladesh gave an opportunity to defend violence against women, even remaining in the family.


Call for Donation for the Thematic Areas of Funding

  • Fund will be utilized through the grantees of BWF by providing awareness raising about the law, its procedures and claiming the justice;
  • Capacity building of local police on the law and oblige them to support the potential victims;
  • Capacity building of local journalists and judicial people on the implementation of the law.
  • Employ a lawyer who will assist to the victims of domestic violence for support;

Each grantees will be provided with TOT on the theme and grant BDT 5–10 million for performing the above included activities and advocacy.
